Letter to Dr Alexander Wilson
A Lecturer in Behavioural Ecology
Greetings Dr Alexander Wilson,
I am a visual arts researcher and independent artist from Lisbon, Portugal. I am reaching out to you with a passionate greeting and a request, if I may.
Throughout this recent pandemic, I, along with two contemporary musicians from Portugal and Germany, formed a research trio, creating reflexive content based on technologies of interaction. Our objective is to create proposals for communication between different art mediums, artists, researchers, and pieces of art. Ultimately, the results are expressed through various performances, sessions, or installations, proposing short art pieces aimed at stimulating the emergence of new dimensions and creating a space for new forms of expression for the participants and content creators. The action is inspired by the desire to combine elements and ways of thinking, methods of drawing, and modulation of materials, while valuing human interactions through the use of technology. The project had its inception during the first COVID-related confinement in March 2020 in Lisbon, Portugal. We would be happy to provide more detailed information about the project and ourselves.
This brings me to the reason for our contact. During our open research of extensive video content on the web, we came across Dr Alexander Wilson's "SPERM WHALES 'ADOPT' DEFORMED DOLPHIN" and were fascinated. We immediately thought it would be an engaging starting point for our next session. We would like to request your permission to use the video as a foundation and inspiration for our subject matter.
With the sincerest intention of respecting both the quality and beauty of your content, our trio would propose to interact with it. Pieces of material would then be compiled and showcased on our website.
Let us know your thoughts!
With our kind regards and congratulations for the material,
João Ghira,
from Trio Triplo Salto Mortal
